What is LekLai ?
Leklai is considered to be the most powerful of all Thai amulets and
exceptionally rare. The word Leklai means “flowing metal” and it is
found in sacred caves, often only revealing itself to monks who keep
the sources
secret. It is said that it will reveal itself only
to those with a high degree of Enlightenment in the Buddhist faith. It
is sometimes found in a liquid state like mercury and I have seen photos
of it oozing in a molten state
inside a cave and collected by
the monks who shape it into capsule-like amulets while at other times it
is found solid and cut into amulet shape. One can also see natural
Leklai in amorphous form, looking somewhat
like a metallic
tektite. The actual content of the material is not yet known, some
leklai attracting to a magnet and others not. It is believed that the
substance will protect its caretaker from any harm or evil. It
reputedly
will seek out its proper caretaker and come and go of its own will. It
should only be acquired by a caretaker who is very serious about its
care.
This is a Lek-lai called "Rae Koh Larn, Leklai
Koh Larn" (Leklai Larn Island) is probably one of the most famous sacred
substances in Koh Laan, Pattaya Thailand amulet stones has a glossy
black colour and have come across some natural Lek-lai on rare occasions
. The reason suggested is that the guru monk has sufficient powers to
accumulate the gaseous leklai and condense the material into a liquid
solid. In contrast many senior monks have said nothing can be added to
leklai, it is a creation of mother nature alone, it is neither
reinforced by metal or by spiritiual power. Old Thai beliefs say that
Leklai was a mercurial solid found in deep forests or the mysterious
caves, this theory is still supported by some countries such as China
and Tibet, who strongly believe in the magic of Leklai, and you will
often hear it called “The Heaven Metal”. Lek-lai It is believed that
this particular sacred substance can release magic powers in a variety
of ways but particularly in helping worshippers from danger and
expelling dangerous enemies or animals.
Rae Koh Larn is famous
for its power to ward off Illnesses, those who revere it state that
illnesses are kept at bay and the wearer which protect from deadly
accidents and increase wealth with those who work hard.
